Service replies are no longer free
From 1 October 2026, Meta charges service messages (your replies within 24 hours of a customer's message) after the first 1,000 per business phone number each month. Unused free replies don't roll over. Utility templates sent inside that 24-hour window are charged again too.
Meta also moved 9 markets out of their regional rates into named countries (Bangladesh, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Morocco, Nepal, Oman, Sri Lanka and Ukraine), and raised marketing rates in Mexico, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Morocco, Rest of Asia Pacific and Rest of Middle East.
Chats that start from a click-to-WhatsApp ad or a Facebook Page call-to-action button are still free for 72 hours.
Frequently asked questions
It depends on the country of the number you message and the message type. Marketing messages cost from $0.0109 (Turkey) to $0.1597 (Netherlands); utility and authentication from $0.0008 (Colombia) to $0.055 (Germany). Rates are Meta's list rates effective 1 October 2026.
The first 1,000 service replies per phone number each month are free. From the 1,001st, Meta charges the service rate of the customer's country (since 1 October 2026).
Your customer's. Meta charges by the country calling code of the number you send to. A business in India messaging a customer in the UK pays the UK rate.
Meta does, directly, on your own WhatsApp Business Account at its official rates. Mywa charges only its subscription: $14.99/month or $149/year, plus local taxes (₹999/month or ₹9,999/year, plus 18% GST in India). No markup on messages.
Utility and authentication messages get cheaper in volume tiers once you send enough in a month to a market. Marketing and service rates don't have volume tiers.
