Zero markup, proven

Which WhatsApp Business API providers charge no markup on Meta's rates?

Meta charges ₹0.8631 per marketing message to Indian numbers. Here is what each provider lists for the same message, how to check your own bill, and how Mywa lets Meta bill you directly for a flat ₹999/month.

Updated October 2026

01The short answer

Yes, you can pay Meta's own rate for every WhatsApp message

A provider charges no markup when you pay exactly what Meta charges per message and nothing more. In India in 2026 that's ₹0.8631 per marketing message and ₹0.115 per utility or authentication message, before 18% GST, on Meta's rate card effective 1 October 2026.

Mywa is built on that model: you connect your own WhatsApp Business Account, add your own card in Meta's Billing Hub, and Meta charges it directly at its published rates. Mywa adds no markup and charges only a flat subscription of ₹999/month (₹833/month billed annually) with every feature and up to 5 agents.

Mywa isn't the only way to pay Meta's rate, and you should know the others:

  • 1

Meta's Cloud API, directly. you pay Meta's rates with no provider in between, but you need developers to build and run the inbox, campaigns and automation yourself.

  • 2

360dialog. its pricing page says “no markup on Meta fees”, with plans from €49 per number per month plus Meta's messaging fees (checked 21 October 2026).

  • 3

Gupshup. its pricing page says Meta's per-message fee is “billed at actuals”, and Gupshup adds its own fee of US$0.001 per message (checked 21 October 2026).

  • 4

Interakt lists “No Markup Charges” on its Enterprise plan; its Starter, Growth and Advanced plans list rates above Meta's (see the table below).

02What markup is

Every WhatsApp API bill has two parts. Markup hides in the second.

You always pay for two things: the software, and Meta's charge for each delivered message. Providers differ in who collects the second one, and at what rate.

  1. 1

    Bill 1: the software subscription

The provider's monthly fee for the inbox, campaigns, automation and integrations. This is the price shown on most pricing pages.

  2. 2

    Bill 2: Meta's message charges

Meta charges per delivered message, by category and by the country of the number you message: ₹0.8631 for marketing and ₹0.115 for utility and authentication to Indian numbers. Service replies are free for the first 1,000 per number each month, then ₹0.115 each.

  3. 3

    Pass-through: Meta bills you

Your card sits on your own WhatsApp Business Account and Meta invoices you at its rate card. The provider never handles the message money, so it can't add a margin.

  4. 4

    Resold: the provider bills you

The provider pays Meta, then charges you its own per-message rate, often from a prepaid wallet or credits. The gap between its rate and Meta's is the markup, and it grows with every message you send.

Interakt lists “No Markup Charges” on Enterprise, where rates are on request. Interakt also lists authentication and service messages at ₹0.127–₹0.129 by plan, and AiSensy and Gallabox list them at ₹0.145 and ₹0.1323, against Meta's ₹0.115. Gallabox's rates are from the per-message pricing document linked from its pricing page, whose FAQ says conversation fees are “reflected on your invoice with our markup”. Gupshup lists its fee in US dollars; in dollar terms, US$0.001 is about 8.5% of Meta's India marketing rate (US$0.0118) and about 71% of its utility rate (US$0.0014). WATI's pricing page says per-message charges vary and links to separate rate cards, so we haven't listed a figure. Providers don't say whether listed rates include GST; Meta's marketing rate is ₹1.018 with 18% GST, so if a listed rate includes GST the real gap is smaller. Ask your provider before comparing.

05Checklist

How to check if your WhatsApp provider marks up Meta's rates

You don't have to take anyone's word for it, including ours. Ten minutes with your last invoice is enough:

  • 1

Find the rate you pay per marketing and utility message to Indian numbers, on your provider's pricing page, rate card or invoice.

  • 2

Compare it with Meta's rate card for India: ₹0.8631 marketing, ₹0.115 utility and authentication, before GST. Anything higher is markup.

  • 3

Check whether the provider's rate includes GST. Meta's ₹0.8631 becomes ₹1.018 with 18% GST, so compare like with like.

  • 4

See who invoices you for messages. If it's Meta, through your own Business Manager's Billing Hub, you're paying Meta's rate. If you top up a wallet or buy credits from the provider, it's reselling.

  • 5

Look for a separate per-message platform fee on top of Meta's charge. It isn't called markup, but it adds to every message all the same.

  • 6

Check service replies. Meta gives every number 1,000 free service replies a month, then charges ₹0.115 each. See whether your provider passes on that free allowance and that rate.

  • 7

Ask whether the rate changes by plan. Some providers charge less per message on higher plans, so the markup on your plan may differ from the headline one.

06How Mywa bills

Two bills, and Mywa only sends one of them

This is how billing works inside the Mywa app today.

  1. 1

    Pay Mywa a flat ₹999/month

Or ₹9,999/year (₹833/month), plus 18% GST, with a GST invoice. Every feature and up to 5 agents are included. The fee is the same whether you send 100 messages or 100,000.

  2. 2

Connect your own WhatsApp Business Account

Meta's Embedded Signup opens inside Mywa. The account and number are registered to your business, not to Mywa.

  3. 3

Add your card in Meta's Billing Hub

In Mywa, Settings → Billing → WhatsApp charges links straight to your business's payment methods in Meta's Billing Hub. You add the card there, in Meta, not in Mywa.

  4. 4

Meta charges you per delivered message

Meta bills your card at its published rates: ₹0.8631 per marketing and ₹0.115 per utility message in India, plus GST. Your message invoices appear in Meta's Billing Hub.

  5. 5

    Mywa adds nothing on top

No wallet, no message credits, no per-message fee, no per-seat charges. Mywa never collects the message money, so there's nothing to mark up.

07The honest part

When paying a markup can still be worth it

Markup isn't wrong. It's a price, and some providers include things in it that you may value more than the difference. A marked-up provider can be the right choice when:

  • 1

You send few marketing messages. At 1,000 a month, the gap between Meta's rate and a 10% markup is under ₹100, so the software price and features decide the bill.

  • 2

You need more than 5 agents on one number. Mywa's plan includes up to 5; Interakt lists unlimited agents on its Growth and Advanced plans (checked 21 October 2026).

  • 3

You'd rather not add a card to Meta. With a provider that resells messages, you pay one company for both the software and the messages.

  • 4

Your provider's higher plan or Enterprise deal removes the markup. Interakt lists no markup on Enterprise; ask yours what applies at your volume.

08FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Mywa adds no markup: Meta bills your own WhatsApp Business Account directly at its published rates. 360dialog's pricing page says “no markup on Meta fees”, Gupshup bills Meta's fee at actuals plus its own US$0.001 per message, and you can also use Meta's Cloud API directly if you build your own software. Checked 21 October 2026.

On Meta's rate card effective 1 October 2026: ₹0.8631 per marketing message, ₹0.115 per utility message and ₹0.115 per authentication message, before 18% GST. Service replies are free for the first 1,000 per number each month, then ₹0.115 each.

On their pricing pages, checked 21 October 2026, Interakt lists marketing messages at ₹0.949–₹0.970 by plan (10% to 12% above Meta's ₹0.8631), Gallabox at ₹0.9926 (15% above) and AiSensy at ₹1.09 (26% above). They don't say whether these rates include GST. WATI's pricing page doesn't list per-message rates.

It doesn't. Mywa charges only its subscription, ₹999/month or ₹9,999/year plus GST. You add your own card to your business's Billing Hub in Meta, and Meta charges it per delivered message at its official rates, with no markup.

Compare the rate on your provider's invoice with Meta's rate card for the same category and country: in India, ₹0.8631 per marketing and ₹0.115 per utility message before GST. If you top up a wallet or buy credits from your provider rather than being billed by Meta, check the rate carefully.

On messages it costs the same as a no-markup provider like Mywa, because you pay Meta's rates either way. The difference is the software: with the Cloud API alone you have no inbox, campaigns or automation unless your developers build and run them. Mywa gives you those for ₹999/month.
